ArtEZ educates professional creators and lecturers who are at the heart of society, and conducts research in their professional fields. Education, research, entrepreneurship, support. We all work together in order to enable art to develop and to be of use to individuals, groups and organisations. And also to an attractive and stimulating cultural climate and cultural infrastructure in the east of the Netherlands.
We want to empower our students and staff to learn and navigate in a world full of uncertainties:
• Creating values by acquiring new knowledge and skills or by looking at existing knowledge and skills in a new way.
• Talking about tensions and dilemmas, thus learning to approach issues from (a) different or even multiple perspectives: considering different points of view. It is also about learning to respect each other's differences.
• Taking responsibility for one's own actions and creations, reflection on meaning and action accordingly.
In everything we do, we want to be at the heart of society, to create space for personal learning, to be inclusive and diverse, and to work closely not only internally but also with external partners.
ArtEZ has several academies in Arnhem, Enschede and Zwolle. Here we offer full-time and part-time bachelor’s courses in e.g. art, design, fashion, performing arts. In addition to those ArtEZ also offers Master Education, Preparatory courses and a course at the level of Associate Degree. The ArtEZ Professorship, as well as ArtEZ Studium Generale, ArtEZ Business Centre ArtEZ Press and APRIA are entrusted to Research & Valorisation. The Support Personnel at Servicebedrijf engage to help make ArtEZ what it is.
