Working at Research & Outreach

Our Research & Outreach department explores and conducts research into different, alternative and sustainable futures. We address the pressing issues and trends of our time. The department consists of a close-knit community of critical researchers, course developers, inquisitive students, creative entrepreneurs and our own publishing house. Through critical lectures, podcasts, thought-provoking publications, practice-based research and in close collaboration with the education sector, this department addresses vital societal - educational - issues. Does this sound like you? Then read about the vacancies we have in our research and outreach department.

Research and experimentation

Trying things out. Experimenting. For us, this is part For example, the exploration of what new technologies can do for music, fashion or product development. Students from all artistic disciplines can experiment in a variety of projects and workshops. These include the Research Labs and the ArTechLab. We often collaborate with universities and companies.

Collaboration with education

The Research & Outreach Department works closely with our bachelor's and master's programmes: for example, our researchers and lecturers regularly teach courses, contribute ideas to the curriculum and often draw on the expertise and curiosity of our students in research projects. The ArtEZ Business Centre introduces students, from first-year students to long-standing alumni, to the world of entrepreneurship. ArtEZ Studium Generale organises meetings, lectures, training sessions and curates podcasts and publications.

ArtEZ Press, ArtEZ's publishing house, is also part of Research & Outreach. As are the APRIA platform and, of course, the professorships. ArtEZ's five professorships together create an intellectual movement based on 'Another is Possible': another future, another emotion, another idea, another life, another us.
